Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Whats provided with my charter?

A. All of your fishing licenses, bait, and tackle come with the trip. There is a clean cooler with ice for drinks and food.

Q. What kind of gear will we be fishing with?

A. Setups will vary depending on whats being targeted, but quality gear is a must when there is potential for a fish of a lifetime. We use top of the line Shimano gear.

Q. What kind of boat, and how big is it?

A. The boat is a 2023 custom SeaVee 290b with all the bells and whistles. it is 29.5’ in length and powered by twin 300 Mercury outboards, providing use with plenty of power to get to the fish fast and return home safe.

Q. What do i need to bring?

A. Anything that you would like to eat and drink for the day, sunscreen (not the spray, it is not allowed on the boat). A cooler of some sort is also recommended if you are taking fillets with you at the end of the day, this can be left in the car.

Q. Is there anything I cannot bring?

A. Yes. First things first, no bananas, they are bad luck. No GPS units are allowed. No spray style sun screen, it tears up the boats finish and gets everything sticky. No black sole shoes, they mark up the boat really bad.

Q. How should i dress?

A. really depends on the time of year, in the warmer moths a hat, sunglasses, long sleeve sun shirt , shorts or light weight sun pants. Winter time can be a bit chilly so id recommend the same as above with a medium coat, preferably one that in water proof or resistant. Foot wear can vary. I wear flip flops everyday, but am barefoot on the deck most of the day, but if you’re worried about cold feet in the winter short white rubber boots work well. Please do not wear black sole shoes.

Q. Can I bring Alcohol?

A. Yes! cracking a cold one usually helps the fish bite.

Q. What time will the charter leave?

A. Recommended departure time will vary depending on, sunrise, length of trip and species that are most desired. we will nail down a time when you book you’re trip.

Q. Where will the boat depart from?

A. The boat will leave from Coquina Beach South boat ramp.

1465 Gulf Dr. S, Bradenton Beach, FL 34217

unless you are staying with us, in which case you will simply walk out the back door and down to the boat. Check out our lodging page for details.

Q. Do we get to keep our catch?

A. Yes! Once we have returned to the dock I will clean you’re fish and bag it in ziplocks.

Q. What about seasickness?

A. Unfortunately it happens. We recommend seeing your doctor and getting the seasickness patch. The patch seems to work the best. If that isn’t an option people have the best luck with things like Dramamine. One the night before your trip and One the morning of the trip. A light non greasy breakfast is also a good idea.
